I, ah, killed someone. And not a mercy-killing like with Wesker.
[Then he goes on to quickly clarify.]
But he was just such an odious individual, the way he was talking about women and men just made me want to hurt him. I believe you or Ruby might have spoken to him and the way he was talking about you.... if it had been the other way around, I'm sure you would have wanted to hurt him too. He also insulted me as well, the fool, talking about how painting my nails with you makes me less of a man somehow. I think he used some Earth insults like "pansy" and "fairy."
OH! Him! Yeah, I was wondering if he'd actually bring that up with you when I mentioned it. [So now he knows who told Johnny.] That answers that question.
[Color Maul surprised! He's completely taken aback as he'd expected Usagi to scold him, berate him, or at the very least have this expression on her face.]
You're not....you're not going to tell me how wrong it was for me to kill him?
[She smiles, and it might look deeply reminiscent of a certain someone else who giggled and embraced her victims before killing them. It is the same face, after all.]
[Once again, Maul is reminded that his wife can be very, very scary sometimes. But he doesn't blame her one bit in this instance.]
I did. I gave him a warning to stop his foolish actions but instead he wanted to fight. He'll be back soon enough. Maybe he will learn a lesson from this on insulting people simply because he is full of ignorant ideas on how people should act according to something as insignificant as gender.
[She is quite terrifying, it is true. And while Usagi never wants people to be terrified of her, it was best not to forget what she was fully and willingly capable of.]
Ah, how unfortunate that he didn't listen to you. I warned him that you and Savage weren't people to be messed with.
Maybe he'll learn the second time around! [The fact that she is all smiles may be infinitely more chilling than anything else.]
I did notice that too. You warned him, though. And I warned him.
It's his choice to listen. He's an adult after all.

[Maul begins to smile too. He and Usagi are on the same page here.]
He appears to be a slow learner much as I am. This could take a while.
[Well, Maul is feeling much better about his his first malicious death here in Trench might have been a warranted one. At least he figures Usagi can run interference for him if anyone wants to bring out the torches and pitchforks. She can just direct them to spend five minutes with Johnny and then see if the strong urge for homicide rises in any of them.]
I should see what he does when confronted with Savage. Anyone who chooses to run their mouth around my brother is clearly suicidal.
[While Maul is intimidating himself, of course, Savage is seven feet tall and built like a small tank. Anyone who looked at him and decided that was the person to mess with had a death wish.]
Oh, I know, but I also know he's harder to enrage.
[Sorry, Maul, you're about as easy to taunt as getting a dog to chase a ball.]
Somehow I don't see endless beatings being the answer. I don't know what IS, but not that. I dunno. He's... a weird one. I don't think he'd listen to a girl, in any case.
Savage is able to decide for himself on such things, Maul.
[She watched him carefully and tilted her head.]
No, I don't think having killed him will do much. [Johnny is not Peter, terrified of what Maul MIGHT do. Johnny was much too confident and assured to let a small matter like dying remove his pride. She shook her head. She appreciated his bravery, she just hated his prejudices. ]
I think you're better off leaving him alone from now on. If you two actually got along somehow we'd all be in trouble. [Too much pride in one place.]
Well, I am unsure if it is a Nightbrother custom or not, but Savage threatened to do so to him. He'd probably consider it a waste of good meat to leave a dead body lying around for no good reason.
[And it's not like it's the first time Maul would have engaged in eating sentient species either, though the less said about that the better.]
Well, I doubt I shall behave anytime soon around him. He is terrible.
Alright, I'll tell him to leave his body alone when he inevitably crushes him like a flea.
[Maul sounds far too pleased about that idea coming to pass.]
Many men have this attitude on Earth? [Maul sounds a bit shocked. He supposes maybe this place just has brought a bunch of progressive Sleepers, or rather, what they should have already been thinking of all along.] No wonder it is a place full of sentient morons.
[Usagi doesn't bother saying there are plenty of men who don't think this way. Mamoru immediately came to mind, her dad, her baby brother, Chibiusa's male friend, Umino had his moments, Rei's grandfather, all human, all very good people. But... she's met just as many who were worse than Johnny.]
There are... definitely enough of those types of guys for it to be common enough to not even blink at it happening.
[Maul's face is just full of disapproval. He's never really heard of something like this being quite so prominent on planet Earth. Apparently, the people he's encountered over the past two years have mostly knowledgeable enough not to engage in misogyny and sexism.]
You know when my brother first arrived, he described the people of Earth as "sentient morons." While I know that is not true, there is a certain subset it does seem to apply to.

You already know, Maul. [Which was true.]
I'm sure you warned him to stand down, right?

I did. I gave him a warning to stop his foolish actions but instead he wanted to fight. He'll be back soon enough. Maybe he will learn a lesson from this on insulting people simply because he is full of ignorant ideas on how people should act according to something as insignificant as gender.

[Then all bets are off.]
But I mean, he probably will, Johnny-san, I mean. He'd probably be worse if he met Sailor Moon.

[Maul is sorely tempted to egg on his little brother just to see what he'd do to Johnny.]
Yes, there doesn't seem to be a lot that gets through that rather thick skull of his. I'm sure all lessons will need to be beaten into him.

[Though Maul is already getting the positively evil idea of tricking Johnny into fighting Savage. He'd love to see that.]
I doubt he listens to anyone, though perhaps the fact I killed him might garner some respect out of the fool.

[Everyone knew Maul was a hothead but few had seen Savage fly completely off the handle.]
I suppose you are right.
[As he's already learned, she always is. Maul snorted and shook his head.]
Small chance of that happening.

And bigger miracles have happened in this place.

He's gonna give Savage indigestion. He really shouldn't try to eat him.
Mnn, he's not... great, no. [She sighed.] But he's not uncommon. There were lots of guys like that back home, too.
